Updated Symptom Topics

A primary care physician and/or a specialist in the field reviewed the following topics. All information has been verified for medical accuracy, and new medical information has been added if available.

• Diarrhea, Age 11 and Younger: The Home Treatment section now includes information about not giving children medicines to stop diarrhea unless a doctor tells you to, and tips on how to clean up after diarrhea to prevent the spread of germs.
• Diarrhea, Age 12 and Older: The Home Treatment section now includes information about how to clean up after diarrhea to prevent the spread of germs. The Prevention section now contains a link to the Food Poisoning topic. Metformin has been added to the list of medicines that can cause diarrhea.
• Domestic Abuse: The Teen Dating Abuse Hotline information has been added throughout the topic. Links to the Physical Abuse and the Sexual Abuse topics have been added to the end of the Check Your Symptoms section.
